Christians In Training
CIT IS AN INTENSE, THREE-WEEK DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM THAT SEEKS TO TEACH YOUNG PEOPLE TO DRAW CLOSER TO GOD THROUGH SERVICE, BIBLICAL STUDIES, PRAYER, AND FELLOWSHIP.
The Christians in Training (CIT) program is an intensive, three-week discipleship program that is designed to help high school teens to learn how to serve God by serving others and by doing so to grow in their love and devotion to God. This is accomplished by daily Bible study and prayer times, training, daily work projects (serving food, washing dishes, cleaning, woodcutting, trail prep, painting etc.), and other acts of service. Participants in the CIT programs are teens who demonstrate a clear, established desire to grow in their pre-existing relationship with God and have a willingness to serve others. CIT is a character and spiritual building experience, where teens are trained to live their life in a way that honors God.
The CITers are the group of young people that our younger campers look up to; we work hard daily to set godly examples for them to see! This program has a lot of fun aspects to it:
⦁ CITers develop a family-like bond that lasts long after their 3 weeks at camp
⦁ CITers have an excellent opportunity to learn about the true joy that is found in getting dirty and serving in the grunt work at camp.
⦁ CITers get to play awesome activities and so much more!
While you are at camp for CIT, we want you to focus first on growing in your relationship with God then serving both Believers and Unbelievers around you. We also believe that the best place to build deep relationships is at Bible camp... We have lots of success stories! But, finding someone to fall in love with or to be besties with is not the focus of this program. We understand that you may come to CIT with someone you are interested in and we know that some of you will develop interest in someone who is in your session! We also know that you and your bestie probably applied for CIT as soon as registration opened so that you can get into the same session as each other. We aren't against this by any means; however, we do find that exclusivity on CIT hurts the whole group. Whether it's a romantic interest or just best friends who want to be at camp together for a whole month, you will not be allowed to maintain an exclusive relationship while you're at camp. We will mix up work project teams and dish crews to help you deepen relationships with others. We will remind you that you cannot only spend your free time with one person or only sit with one person during Bible Studies. And, as with the other expectations we have for CITers, if you aren't willing to comply, you could be sent home.
Selection for participation in this program is based upon: 1) your application and 2) two personal references. We will process your application after we have also received your Reference Forms. You will need to print your reference forms and give them to your references in a stamped envelope for them to mail back to camp or they can fill it out online. They can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. CIT slots fill quickly, so get your application & references to us as soon as you can!
